Naprapathy
Naprapathy is a natural healing system utilizing neuromuscular and skeletal manipulation. It is similar to chiropractic but differs in the attention to ligamentous scar tissue around the spine and other joints. The technique consists of specific active and passive stretches into these scarred tissues relieving the contraction which opens up neural and circulatory pathways. Naprapathy and chiropractic work synergistically or separately creating a healthy spine, a healthier you.
More on Naprapathy
Naprapathy was founded in 1905 by Dr Oakley Smith. He was one of the earliest graduates of Dr D.D. Palmer, Founder of Chiropractic school in Davenport, Iowa. Shortly after completing his chiropractic training he began to search for the cause of disease. His studies lead him to the discovery of ligatites, scar tissue formation in ligaments that support the spine and other connective tissue which cause pain, imbalance and nerve irritation. The word Naprapathy pronounced nah- prah- pathy, comes from the Czech napravit, which means to fix or correct and the Greek pathos ,which means suffering. Combined Naprapathy means to fix or correct suffering. Naprapaths complete a 4 year course leading to Dr of Naprapathy and are licensed practitioners.
